Today is the day of the Earth. I actually do not understand that why there is only one day to celebrate the Earth. Many people take time only on this day (and even more people never…) , to talk about the importance of our environment.
Unfortunately, the problem much bigger. Currently, the Earth is in such a bad state that people should pay attention to its protection every day!
Everyone who knows me personally, knows that my passion for animals and nature is very big, and marine life is mostly on my heart.
I can recommend the new Netflixes documentary Seaspiracy. I had to take breaks while watching the movie, the content was shocking and after 3 weeks of watching it is still hard to believe what all is happening now in 2021.
I can recommend you. But you will see images that you wouldn’t have even dreamed of.
I try to consume as conscious and sensible as possible, and always trying to do better.
A few tips that I also pay a lot of attention to:
Limit your meat eating!
I personally don’t eat meat. The reason is the large amount of water that is needed to produce meat: Up to 7 kilograms of feed and 15,300 liters of water are needed to “produce” 1 kilogram of beef. Including drinking water for the animals and water for cleaning the stables, the incredible sum of 15,500 liters of water is needed for just 1 kilogram of beef!
And many people do not have clean water to drink in fact…
Do not eat fish at all!
After watching the mentioned documentary -Seaspiracy there will be no more question why we have to do it…. Our oceans are on the verge of collapse and therefore we should all completely renounce fish and seafood, if we do not live directly on the sea!
Drink tap water!
I only drink tap water, at home for me I never buy drinks in plastic bottles.
If it is necessary, everyone can buy a filter for the faucet – it filters out lime and other materials from the water.
“Researchers at the University of Münster were also able to prove in a study that bottled water contains plastic microparticles. In all 38 mineral waters studied, the researchers found particles of microplastic that were often smaller than a red blood cell.”
Buy organic and sasional food!
In the summer, I have lots of fruits and vegetables right from my garden.
I haven’t bought tropical fruits at home for a long time (but on my vacations I eat lots of them, which I buy from local vendors).
Do not throw away food!
If I have to, I go every day or every other day and buy food, but never too much at once, so that it does not end up in the trash.
